Kettering Hospital Criticised Following Failure to Diagnose Broken Neck of Elderly Lady
As Reported by BBC News; Mrs Webster, who was 86 years old and living in a care home, was admitted to Kettering General Hospital in 2017 following a fall.
CT scans of her back and head were taken and Mrs Webster was later transferred to Northampton General Hospital as she had sustained facial injuries. However, the correct CT scans were not passed over to Northampton Hospital and therefore a spinal fracture was missed leading Mrs Webster to be discharged.
Mrs Webster was later readmitted to Kettering Hospital where she very sadly passed away due to bronchopneumonia, which was not thought to be linked to the missed fracture.
