Medical Negligence Cancer Claims

Your cancer negligence claims support team are ready to help fight for your justice.

Receiving the devastating news that you or a loved one has cancer is hard enough, but receiving an incorrect or delayed diagnosis can significantly impact your physical and mental health.

A patient’s chance of improving and recovering from cancer increases significantly the quicker it is diagnosed, and treatment is begun. If cancer has progressed and spread throughout the body, this may mean that the patient has to undergo more extensive treatment or, in some sad cases, no longer be treated.

Delays in cancer diagnosis.

A delay in diagnosis is when cancer could and should have been picked up earlier; however, it has been allowed to progress. Generally, the impact of the delay will vary from patient to patient and will also depend on the type of cancer and how it develops.

There are numerous reasons why a delay in diagnosing cancer may occur. This could be due to the GP not referring you to a specialist after you showed particular symptoms, an x-ray being misreported and not actioned correctly, or even a basic human admin error of misfiling. Whatever the reason is, they all can have a devastating impact on the patient and should be investigated thoroughly.

Misdiagnosis of cancer.

A misdiagnosis of cancer is when a patient is told an incorrect diagnosis of cancer type, stage, or even in some cases, that you do have cancer when you don’t! The results of a misdiagnosis can be catastrophic as the patient may undergo extensive unnecessary treatment or the wrong treatment and ultimately worsen the patient’s condition.

Suppose you or a loved one feel you have received a misdiagnosis of cancer or that your diagnosis was delayed due to a medical professional. In that case, you may be entitled to an award of compensation through a medical negligence claim.
